Well, I finally got caught up on this season of Lost. An obligation to watch Lie to Me last week led to my missing the first two episodes, but I saw them in time to catch this week's, and all three episodes were totally awesome. Sue me, but I actually enjoyed the Rainn Wilson comedy The Rocker. It was a little mediocre in spots, like when Wilson gets naked (because that's what he does) or gets hit in the nuts, but otherwise it's an entertaining movie. Will Arnett and Fred Armisen as Cleveland rockers gone British are fantastic. So why did the whole thing feel familiar? Because it was the same kind of cheesy, "we-can-do-it" rock 'n' roll flick as one of my favorite guilty-pleasure movies: Josie and the Pussycats. When The Office first came on the air in America, I refused to watch it. I had seen a little bit of the original British series, and I was put off by the show's brand of embarrassment humor. I already felt uncomfortable most of the time, so why watch a show that made me more uncomfortable? I eventually grew to love the U.S. series, despite the frequent embarrassing situations, and today I can even rattle off the most embarrassing moments for each of the Dunder-Mifflin staffers. Here at Buster of Chops, we -- okay, I was really looking forward to the new Wolverine movie. Yes, there are big, bushy muttonchops in it, but it also looked like the cast was going to be top-notch. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool? Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth? That guy from Friday Night Lights as Gambit? (Hey, I hear he has fans...) But these re-shoots they're doing on the film have me worried. Man, I used to love the Transformers. And I guess I still do. But I really, really, really disliked the movie. I seem to be alone, at least among Transformers fans, who are just so happy to have something, anything, but I just can't fully embrace such an awful, awful film. And yet I am strangely drawn to any and all news about the second film, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
