When The Office first came on the air in America, I refused to watch it. I had seen a little bit of the original British series, and I was put off by the show's brand of embarrassment humor. I already felt uncomfortable most of the time, so why watch a show that made me more uncomfortable? I eventually grew to love the U.S. series, despite the frequent embarrassing situations, and today I can even rattle off the most embarrassing moments for each of the Dunder-Mifflin staffers.
